Oil Refinery | Power System Studies
One of the largest oil refineries in the United States constructed a Naphtha Hydrotreater (NHT) unit to allow for the removal of sulfur and nitrogen compounds. Patrick provided comprehensive power system studies associated with the electrical installation of this NHT unit. These power system studies included short circuit analysis, protective device coordination, arc flash, load flow, impact motor starting, cable pulling, and cable ampacity, along with programming of protective relay database (RDB) setting files for the new equipment. Patrick interfaced with all involved parties including third-party design firms, owner construction teams, and other contractors involved with construction.
