Middlebury, Vermont | Middlebury Bridge + Tunnel Replacement
Patrick developed an Independent Cost Estimate and Contract Time Determination (CTD) Schedule through multiple design iterations in order to aid the owner in negotiating a final bid price and schedule with the contractor as part of the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) project delivery method. This project replaced two nearly 100-year-old rail bridges in the center of a vibrant downtown community with a 360-foot tunnel section that provides community space for the Town Green to be expanded and restored. Patrick worked closely with the project team to perform brainstorming exercises for alternative ways to address the project and modify design or construction approaches to improve the cost, schedule and/or functionality of the project. Patrick was also instrumental in the strategic approach and procedures that were critical to keeping all parties aligned throughout the project. This project proved to be a successful deployment of the CM/GC delivery process.
